SkyTech Shadow GTX1050 TI Review
If you desire the strongest, most adaptable PC with plenty of room for upgrading, your best bet is just building your own. The past decade has seen a surge of knowledge and confidence to users across the board and now DIY desktops are becoming the norm. But let’s face it, not everyone is capable of building their own desktop PC, right? While tailor picking individual components and weighing their limitations is an advantage PC builders enjoy, not everyone has that understanding.
So if you can’t have the comfort, control or satisfaction that building your own rig gives, your next best bet might just be finding consolation in buying a prebuilt one. The SkyTech Shadow GTX 1050 TI Gaming computer is a great prebuilt desktop to first check out. SkyTech have been in the prebuilding game for a while now and have gotten really great at it. Check out this SkyTech Shadow GTX1050 TI Review desktop review to understand.

Form, Function, and More
Built into a black polished case, the SkyTech Shadow GTX 1050 Ti gaming computer is relatively out-of-the-world themed desktop more of intergalactic look. The front face is nothing close to unassuming like other SkyTech desktops I’ve seen before. It brings to life an alien head look, more like Cybertron and the blue-lit LED face compliments the theme all the more. The side panels are also interesting owing to the tempered glass panels on both flanks. Both side panels are removable which is pretty reliable when upgrading, but the left side panel stands out more because of a small cutout window.
The whole frame stands 18.2 x 8.5 x 20.2 inches and weighs 28 pounds. Of course, that isn’t very lightweight or portable for that matter. But it weighs less than some of its competition, for instance, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra GUA3400A Gaming Desktop (34 pounds).
For external connections, there are a number of connectors such as the HDMI, DVI, and a DisplayPort connector. The highlight is that you can run a triple set of monitors thanks to this setup. There is also a USB WI-Fi plug-in dongle for wireless internet connections.
The hardware behind this PC is impressive and ideally what makes it run. The parts include a 3.8 GHz AMD FX-Series Quad-Core FX-B4150 processor, 8 GB SDRAM DDR3 1866MHz memory, 1 TB HDD 7200 RPM storage, Windows 10 and an inbuilt Wi-Fi system. On top of that, SkyTech also includes a free keyboard and mouse as complimentary for buying this unit. All these components are connected to the AM3+ 970 Chipset Gaming Motherboard that is the nervous system managing this rig.
The AMD FX-B4150 is actually a good processor that hits 4.0GHz on Turbo speed, has L3 Cache of 8MB and an Average CPU Mark of 4611. It works hand in hand with the 8GB DDR3 memory which is common for desktops within this price range. I would recommend bumping it up to 16GB for faster and efficient multitasking. The 1TB hard drive storage is also plenty for storing your data files, music movies and software. This desktop does not offer a solid state drive which we feel should be compulsory for every gaming desktop. As a result of this lack, boot time and loading software is noticeably slower, but if speed isn’t your primary concern, that shouldn’t be a problem.
Every gaming machine needs atleast an integrated graphics unit to crunch the numbers and handle your favorite games. But discrete graphics card do so much better in that frontier and are the preferred option. This desktop sports a modern Nvidia 10-series Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti which for the desktop price is really a steal. We loved this mid-range Pascal GPU because it’s capable of handling most recent titles at Full HD, has low power consumption and works with a silent hum. While the 1050 Ti chip was used as the recipe to create the potent line up of cards including GTX 1080, 1070 and 1060, the downside is that it does not support VR gameplay.
On our in-house gaming tests, we put the graphics card on its paces to see at what frame rate it maxed out on. And like earlier mentioned, there was no AAA game it couldn’t play. The only limitation is that the frames dropped intensely for some games more than others. In my tests, the GTX 1050 Ti managed 65.5fps at Full HD on Dirt Rally,58.3 fps on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and 65.2fps on Hitman. Generally, expect more games to play at an approximate of 60 fps and lower on Full HD.

So, should you buy the SkyTech Shadow GTX 1050 Ti Gaming PC? Well, let’s break down the reasons you should. I give it up to SkyTech Company for assembling an awesome desktop with literally almost the best features in the market. First, the chassis is cool white/ black with gamer appealing design. Then, it sports a 3.8 GHz FX-Series Quad-Core FX-B4150 processor, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD storage and a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti GPU with 4GB VRAM.
So, from that perspective alone, it sounds like a pretty sweet deal and the price backs it up too. The caveat, however, is that the price could be so much lower than it is. But that applies to users capable of assembling their own rigs. With such knowledge, you can assemble a better performance desktop for less. But for those not capable of doing it themselves or have no time, the SkyTech Shadow (ST-SHADOW-GTX1050TI-V1) Gaming computer is a solid buy worth buying.
