Buy the Eluktronics P750DM 15.6″ Eluktro Pro-X Mobile Workstation at Amazon

The Eluktronics P750DM 15.6″ Eluktro Pro-X Mobile Workstation | Amazon combines the same top-notch design as the rest of the P-series Eluktronics laptop siblings. Beside the cutting-edge components, the Eluktronics P750DM like its P-series peers features a simple formidable metallic case. The case offers the laptop an excellent sturdy feel, and its polished deck complements its deck with a smooth surface to work on. At first glance, one can’t help but notice the beautiful full sized keypad with a included number pad.

Typing is a joy thanks to the deep travel it offers and excellent responsiveness, in addition to the anti-ghost feature. It if further equipped with a multi-color changeable LED Backlit that enables the user to change color schemes at will. Thanks to the customizable lighting, the Eluktronics P750DM look strikingly beautiful.

On size matters, the Eluktronics P750DM 15.6″ Eluktro Pro-X Mobile Workstation is nothing close to svelte. The laptop measures 10.3 x 1.4 x 15.2 inches and weighs 7.7 pounds making it a little too heavy for frequent movement  -whether to school or work. That of course makes it less than ideal for a travel laptop, one can still afford to carry it along for a short rid from the car to the office without breaking their back. Considering the power it offers, its worth carrying if you’re a power user ir the tasks you run on it are graphically intensive.

In comparison, the Alienware 17R4 weighs 2 pounds more than our unit (9.77 pounds) owing to its chunky construction and generally larger size (17 Inch display). Its N-series sibling, the  Eluktronics N850HP6 Pro-X Premium Gaming Laptop | Amazon weighs in at 5.9 pounds – which means our unit leans more towards heavy on the scales. However, don’t let weight matters trouble your mind so much. Such a weight is not incommon in this category of machines. One such example is the Razor blade Pro that weights 7.7 pounds.

Typical of  IPS displays, the Eluktronics P750DM comes with a 15.6 inch display that offers excellent color reproduction, high brightness levels and wide viewing angles, Brightness levels average at 275 nits, which is quite alright for both indoor and outdoor use. Color accuracy is impressive to say the least, much to the advantage of a graphics designer or a photo/ video editor. Futher, dark frames on movies and games look very crisp, with no sign of a gray hue to it. And  unlike many other notebooks, the Eluktronics P750DM does not suffer from a blue cast. Overall, picture quality is exquisite although falling slightly short of the Razer Blade  in excellence.

The top bezel further host an impressive 2.0MP Full-HD webcam and array microphone that captures  sound and images very well, far better than what ordinary HD cameras do. That makes the Eluktronics P750DM an excellent choice of a machine if you’re into Skype, Facebook live and other social video applications.

While the Eluktronics P750DM’s camera is undoubtedly great, it would be awesome if it had the Tobii eye-tracking technology such as does the Alienware 17 R4. The technology enhances certain elements of gameplay by moving the screen view in accordance with the player’s eye movements thus making it easy to target and strike opponents with pinpoint accuracy. Sweet!

Speaking of audio: The Eluktronics P750DM sound is surprisingly rich and balanced. The two Onkyo speakers are supported by a the Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 sound solution created by Creative. While base levels are not sub-woofer like, they are quite decent considering that its a notebook. Volume levels are quite impressive to say the least, with the speakers being audible meters away from the unit. However, at top volume, some distortion is notable – though not to an extent of making audio content unbearable. In general, the speakers are great.

Input devices

The keyboard and keypad are well constructed, similar to the chassis. The keys are well spaced and accurate, that in addition the anti-ghosting feature. This features allows one to type fast without worrying that some swipes may be ghosted out. This is a definite plus especially when it comes to gaming directly on the keyboard. The right side of the keyboard has a numeric keypad, perfect for accountants and Engineers among other professionals. Gaming in dim-lit rooms isn’t a problem since the keys are well lit and the color can be customized to whatever color scheme that’s pleasing to the user.

The touchpad on the other hand is quite nice to use, though might take a little getting used to if one is used to a centrally placed one. At the center of the two click buttons is a fingerprint reader for security. That comes as an added security feature alongside TPM 2.0 chip. Just to keep you in the know, TPM (Trusted Platform Module) microcontroller is included in the computer hardware for protection by integrating cryptographic keys into devices. Find out more here.

Given the Eluktronics P750DM 15.6″ Eluktro Pro-X Mobile Workstation’s massive physical estate, it accommodates a myriad of ports for connectivity. The ports are well distributed around the laptop’s case including the front and both left and right sides. Check the specs sheet for a comprehensive list of ports available.

Other connectivity options include the Intel Dual-Band AC 8260 [2×2] and Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connections.

For power user across the boar, the processor forms the point of attraction of a computer. Thats no different here either. Eluktronics P750DM is powered by an Intel Core i7-6700K Quad Core processor with a base clock of 4.0Ghz and a Turbo clock of 4.2GHz. Considered a pretty high end processor, it offers among other features virtualization, hyperthreading and Turbo boost 2.0.

On our CPU benchmark test it recorded an Average 3DMark of 12320, a few steps behind the  Intel Core i7-7700K at 13780, which is quite impressive. Performance-wise, it is powerful enough to handle the most challenging tasks one may throw at it – down from word processing all the way to AAA 3D games. On the same breath, meets all system requirements for all modern games at 1080p resolution.

The processor is coupled with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM (2 Dimm), 1 TB Hard drive (7200RPM) Storage and 128 GB solid state drive. The storage is plenty for casual home and office use and should be able to provide space for music, videos, data files and your photo gallery. Additionally, the 128 GB SSD comes in handy for booting the system up fast – in seconds. One should be able to stream online videos on Netflix, browse the web with multiple tabs open, and do some word processing and other multitasking tasks simultaneously without breaking a sweat.

8GB memory is perfectly sufficient to meet the needs of programmers, graphical designers, engineers and gamers alike. However,  optimal performance would be achieved with 16 GB of RAM in out opinion. Fortunatly, Eluktronics ensured there’s a good set of configuration to cover literally every need and taste. Users looking to upgrade by themselves in the future have the option of tweaking through the single 7mm/9.5mm 2.5” SATA III and M.2 2280 SSD/PCIe slot.

As for gaming and generally graphic intensive tasks, the Eluktronics 15.6″ Eluktro Pro-X P750DM depends on the 2GB GDDR5 VRAM NVIDIA Quadro M1000M 3D Graphics card to process. This is a lower mid-range model made for Workstations a few years back (2015). In comparison to gaming GPUs we’re all used to, it falls somewhere below the GTX 950M basing from its lower shader count.

There are a number of configurations available for this model, but Eluktronics focused primarily on the solid state drive and memory capacity. With these myriad of options, you can base your decision depending on the scale and intensity of your tasks. Multitasking users and professional working with heavy software can opt for the highest iteration but of course for an extra penny.
