- The CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A Desktop Gaming PC/ Amazon packs raw gaming performance in a big gamer-inspired boxy chassis. It features some high end features perfect for delivering the lethal punch to your enemies while gaming. With this CYBERPOWERPC unit, you get a 3 GHz Core i5-7400 Quad-core processor, 8 GB DDR4 memory, 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive and AMD RX 580 4GB DDR5 graphics memory. Our reviewed unit reminds us of the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA4500A desktop | Amazon and the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A2 Desktop Gaming PC we reviewed earlier which we recommended for entry-level gaming. But this unit also offers respectable gaming power at a pocket-friendly price, enough to sanction our recommendation.
Measuring 20.2 x 9.2 x 21.6 inches and weighing 32 pounds, the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A Desktop Gaming PC is a sizeable and powerful gaming rig. Its big, black and boxy design has a touch of modern yet maintains its subtleties quite well. If not for the peculiar side panel windows and red RGB lighting, the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A Desktop Gaming PC would disappear easily in a room of casual gaming, business or office laptops. The left side panel is clear and visible through and through just as the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA4500A desktop we reviewed a while ago and other CYBERPOWERPCs in the market.
The port system on this baby is pretty decent. It has nothing particularly flashy like USB Type-C ports but the connectors available plenty and reliable. The desktop sports a numerous number of USB 2.0 ports and USB 3.0 ports at the rear meaning you can enjoy an Oculus Rift VR set (requires at least 2 USB 3.0 ports). In essence, the video card comes with a HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 for connecting to your external monitor and HDTV. In total, there are 6 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports. Additionally, there is a single RJ-45 Network Ethernet 10/100/1000 for LAN connections and Bluetooth 802.11AC Wi-Fi USB Adapter. CYBERPOWERPC also offers a free keyboard and mouse as complimentary items for buying the desktop.
What drives most gamers into buying into these kinds of desktops is performance; impressive performance at the lowest price possible. So, the first specification that comes into scrutiny is the processor. This CYBERPOWERPC desktop comes with 3 GHz Core i5-7400 Quad-core which is pretty decent. The processor is the new Core i5 seventh-generation series (codenamed Kaby lake) and it hits 3.5GHz when at maximum clock speed (also 6MB of L3 cache).
Thanks to its support for Hyper-Threading it can handle a number of tasks without breaking a sweat. The 8 GB DDR4 memory (2 x 4 GB) compliments it well, enabling it to handle multitasking and triple-A titles. Just in case that isn’t enough memory to handle your tasks, the memory is expandable to 64GB.
For storage, CYBERPOWERPC included a 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive that saves up space for your document files, photo gallery, video gallery, movies, and games. The Windows 10 operating system is preinstalled on the hard drive storage and integrates well with it. In general, I would say CYBERPOWERPC did a great job in assembling the best features. The specifications are incredible at least on paper and in performance.
Graphics and Gaming
With that said, let’s get down to the real stuff; the gaming capabilities. To power this beast the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A was fitted with an AMD RX 580 4GB DDR5 graphics card. As the heart and soul of this gaming machine, the GPU works hard to provide uncompromised 1080p gaming performance and it does so with desirable aggression.
It’s pretty nifty and you can crank up an impressive performance on some triple-A titles, stream brilliant Full HD videos and also enjoy a decent 1440p performance. We tried playing a few games like Battlefield 1, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Hitman. They all played well and had decent frame rates with Ghost Reckon hitting an upscale of 59.5 fps on Full HD.
Moving on, in comparison with other GPUs for instance, the GTX 1060 on the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Ultra GUA4500A, our GPU is slightly less efficient. GTX 1060 draws less power (242W) and noise making it a more appealing GPU in the market. Even so, while the RX 580 consumes up to 340W (power-guzzling) of power, its highlight is that it runs quietly even under load.

CYBERPOWERPC desktops have almost always had an impressive gamer look which in our opinion is sweet and gravy. The CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A Desktop Gaming PC did not disappoint us either, and the glass side windows and RGB lighting really did it for me. The specs are also high end on paper and translate impressively in performance as well. You get 3 GHz Core i5-7400 Quad-core processor, 8 GB DDR4 memory, 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive and AMD RX 580 4GB DDR5 graphics memory for a low price; which is more than you can say for some desktops. So far, the CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR GXiVR8020A Desktop Gaming PC Temporarily out of stock made all the right turns and we easily recommend it for eentry-levelgamers, especially for those on a budget or those without the knowledge/ confidence to build their own.
