The ASUS ROG GT51CH-DB71 easily ticks all the essential boxes when it comes to gaming design. The case has a unique and truly aggressive, aerospace inspired design that features sharp, chiseled edges and smooth surfaces complete with bright red LED lighting and a turbine-like air intake on the front of the chassis. This is not a desktop that you would be comfortable keeping elsewhere apart from on top of your desk setup in full view. The eye catching looks are clearly part of the package.

A uniquely shaped glass window on the side panel allows us to get a glimpse of the brightly lit interior of the ASUS ROG GT51CH-DB71. We can tell that cable management is professionally done so is the construction and build quality. We haven’t seen something quite like this to be honest. The exterior design of the ASUS ROG GT51CH-DB71 is truly unique.

You need a screwdriver to gain access to the interior. Inside we get a plethora of expansion slots including two free DIMM 288 Pin RAM slots, three M.2 slots, three PCIe express 16 Slots and two PCIe express 1 slots The upgrade options available on this Asus motherboard are quite endless. Right away, you can add an extra 32Gigs of RAM on the unused slots, five 3.5″ HDDs or five 2.5″ SSDs and even an extra GPU in SLI if you really want to go all out with the upgrades.

The ASUS ROG GT51CH-DB71 comes with a pre-installed copy of Windows 10 Home. It also has a BD-ROM optical drive.

Input Devices

Bundled with this gaming pc is the ROG Mechanical Keyboard and gaming mouse. The mechanical keyboard is really nice to game on. A lot of hardcore pc gamers prefer the mechanical feedback you get from a traditional mechanical keyboard like this one. It really feels premium and adds that little spice to the gaming experience. The gaming mouse is also quite snappy as expected. This is an Asus gladius. It has several buttons that you can configure to control your favorite games. These peripherals have all we need to jump right into gaming without having to spend extra bucks buying our favorites. That said, the choice of keyboard and mouse for gaming tends to be quite personal so some users may find a need to get their own elsewhere.

As expected since the ASUS ROG GT51CH-DB71 is a premium gaming desktop, we get a great selection of ports, both modern and old. At the front we get a Headphone jack, a Mic jack, one modern USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen 2) port, one USB 3.1 Type-A (Gen 2) and two USB 3.1(Gen 1) ports. At the rear we get six USB 3.1 (Gen 1) ports, two USB 2.0, an S/PDIF-Out port and an RJ45 gigabit LAN port. Lastly video output is delivered through any of the ports on the GTX 1080Ti IO which include; one DVI port, three Display ports (Version 1.4) and one HDMI port. The availability of three Display Ports means you can output HD 4k content at the highest possible refresh rates to three monitors. We also like the fact that we get both the modern USB C standard port at the front as well as good old USB type A 3.1 ports.

Again as expected from a high-end desktop pc we get both gigabit Ethernet connectivity as well as wireless 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 on the ASUS ROG GT51CH-DB71.
